We are so excited to share our Teacher Training Partnership with Gratz Pilates.

Amy has been teaching on Gratz Pilates Apparatus for 20 years. The Classical System is embedded within the apparatus that we teach on and supports our training programmes in the UK and beyond.

Our training is taught on Gratz apparatus as part of the complete Classical system, where consistency in the equipment supports how the work is learned, understood, and carried forward.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to preserving the integrity of Classical Pilates. Thank you Gratz.

Gratz Pilates - Reformer

What it Means to be Gratz Equipped

At Everybody Pilates, the work is taught on Gratz apparatus as part of the complete Classical Pilates system.

Gratz is the original manufacturer of Pilates equipment, handcrafted from the designs of Joseph Pilates. BeingGratz Equipped is not simply a brand choice. It reflects a commitment to teaching the method as it was designed, with equipment that preserves the structure, resistance, and relationships that define the work.

Why Gratz

Because not all Pilates equipment is manufactured the same.

In Classical Pilates, the apparatus is not separate from the work, it is part of the system itself. The scale, spring resistance, and structure of the equipment shape how each exercise is performed and understood.

Gratz equipment is built to preserve:

  • How the apparatus is meant to support the work
  • The intended spring resistance and progression
  • The relationship between the body, mind, and apparatus

Each piece is built by hand, with subtle variation from one apparatus to the next, while remaining consistent inhow it performs.

Gratz equipment has been used in Classical Pilates studios since the 60’s and is widely recognized as thestandard for authentic Pilates apparatus.

It reflects a direct link to the lineage of the method and a commitment to maintaining its integrity. Choosing Gratz is not about preference. It is about preserving the work as it was designed.

Because the equipment supports the method as it was designed, clients are able to build strength, control, andunderstanding more efficiently over time.

“In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a new body.”

— Joseph Pilates

Built to Be Used

Gratz equipment is designed for daily, continuous use. In many Classical studios, the apparatus has been inuse for years, sometimes decades, not because it is outdated, but because it is built to last and to performconsistently over time.

Signs of use are not signs of decline. They reflect community, transformation, practice, skill development, and aworking studio environment.

Unlike equipment designed for quick turnover or fads, Gratz is made to hold its structure, resistance, andfunction through repeated use.

Why Classical Pilates

Classical Pilates is a system of exercises performed across a defined set of apparatus, including the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, and more.

Each piece of equipment plays a specific role. Together, they create a structured, progressive approach tobuilding strength, control, and understanding in the body.

The Reformer is central to the Pilates system. Its design directly shapes how the work is performed andunderstood.

Gratz Reformers are built to support the method as it was designed, with:

  • A scale and structure that place the body in consistent, repeatable positions
  • Spring resistance that supports the full progression of the work
  • A carriage and track that provide clear, immediate feedback with every movement

This creates what is often referred to as the “Gratz feel.”

The carriage does not glide without effort. There is a purposeful weight and resistance to its movement, requiring the body to both initiate and control each action. The work is supported, but never done for you.

Gratz springs are central to this experience. Their tension responds consistently across the full range of movement, creating two-way resistance, both as you press out and as you return.

This continuous resistance is essential to the work. It develops control, connection, and strength throughout the entire movement, rather than only at the end range.

Consistency That Builds Understanding

Gratz equipment is built with consistent dimensions, resistance, and relationships between body andapparatus.

This creates a reliable experience:

  • From teacher to teacher
  • From studio to studio
  • Across all stages of practice

With that consistency, students can deepen their understanding without needing to adjust to variations inequipment.

Experience the Difference

While Gratz equipment is not only defined by how it looks. It is defined by how well it performs and transforms the body.

We invite you to experience that difference for yourself.
